The tour departs from the hotel lobby and after a short drive, it commences with a walk of the main square “Liria”. You will take an on-the-ground stroll through the historic sights and architecture of Durres, one of Albania’s oldest and most fascinating cities. With a history dating more than 2700 years, this tour will give you an insight into its fascinating past that has shaped the Albania of today.

You will visit the Roman Amphitheatre, which dates from the 2nd century AD and is one of the biggest amphitheaters in the Balkans, followed by the Byzantine Chapel. On your way to the Archaeological Museum of Durres, you will come across the Byzantine Wall, an engineering masterpiece built during the reign of Emperor Anastasius. Then visit the Venetian Tower inside the Durres Castle, which was built in the 15th century above the Byzantine tower. Following these visits, we will stop for refreshments at one of the city’s viewpoints, overlooking the coast, port and Adriatic Sea.
