Setting off from Durres, we head off to Bovilla Lake which takes us off-road around 10 miles outside of Tirana. A part of the Mount Dajti National Park, the lake, which is actually a reservoir, provides most of the drinking water for the capital. You will have a chance to see parts of Tirana before driving up to the dam and taking a short hike to Mount Gamti. The simple hike will allow you to enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and it lasts approximately 40 minutes. At the top of the hill, you can enjoy a view of the lake and the surrounding hills. We will take time to rest, enjoy refreshments and explore a cave. There is even a chance to take a swim amongst the imposing canyons before returning to Durres.
