2018 has been a pretty fun one! Since I set up The Balkanista in February of this year, I have travelled the length and breadth of the country. Whilst I know there is still a huge amount to see, over the last 10 months, I have managed to tick off the following places:
Peze, Tirana, Durres, Lundra, Lezhe, Shkodra, Lake Shkodra, Tamare, Theth, Berat, Gjirokaster, Lushnje, Saranda, Ksamil, Butrint, Fier, Elbasan, Apollonia, The Albanian Riviera from start to finish, Vlore, Korce, Voskapoje, Pogradec, and an untold number of villages and towns inbetween.
Snapping photo’s as I went, I managed to capture the Albanian countryside and urban areas in the rain, snow, wind, cold, warm, hot, sun, and everything in between. These are my absolute favourite pictures of the beautiful places I have visited, and some of the interesting people I met along the way.
