Albanian manufacturer to develop supercar, electric car

Timak, a leading manufacturer of vehicle structures in Albania, has announced its foray into car production, according to a statement provided to SeeNews on Monday.

Arjeta Puca, CEO of Timak, revealed that the company’s initial focus will be on the production of a high-performance supercar, followed by the development of an electric city car.

The company aims to present a prototype of the high-performance car within the next year, with plans to commence production shortly after.

This ambitious venture is a result of a public-private partnership between Timak and the Albanian government, as confirmed by Prime Minister Edi Rama in a previous statement.

Founded in 2016, Timak specializes in the production, conversion, and installation of superstructures for a wide range of vehicles. Their expertise spans various industries, including the manufacturing of ambulances, fire trucks, water tankers, winter and summer road maintenance vehicles, sewage cleaning machines, pile drivers, and mobile truck solutions, among other similar conversions. Timak has established offices in Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Turkey, and Montenegro, showcasing its regional presence and commitment to serving a diverse clientele.

The company has already made notable strides in its field. In May 2022, Timak successfully converted eleven ambulances ordered by the United Nations, which were subsequently dispatched to Ukraine to support crucial healthcare initiatives.

Timak’s entry into the automotive production sector marks a significant milestone for the Albanian manufacturing industry. The company’s extensive experience in vehicle structures, coupled with the support of the Albanian government, positions Timak well for success in this new endeavor.

With their innovative approach and regional presence, Timak aims to contribute to the advancement of Albania’s automotive sector, bringing high-quality and technologically advanced vehicles to both domestic and international markets. The introduction of a supercar and an electric city car signals Timak’s commitment to embracing sustainable and cutting-edge solutions in line with global trends.

As developments progress, industry observers eagerly await the unveiling of Timak’s high-performance car prototype, which promises to be an exciting addition to Albania’s growing automotive landscape.
