Vogue Italia exhibition starts global tour in Tirana

The exhibition “Fashion Panorama – The Italian New Wave” has arrived in Tirana, Albania, marking a significant moment for the fashion industry in the country.

Presented at the Center for Openness and Dialogue (COD), the exhibition aims to showcase the emerging talents of Italian designers and fashion artists. This collaboration between COD, the Italian Institute of Culture, and “Vogue Italia” brings together a unique blend of creativity, culture, and artistry.

“Fashion Panorama – The Italian New Wave” is a project initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and curated by “Vogue Italia.”

It offers free entry to the general public, allowing everyone to explore and appreciate the innovative works of ten talented individuals. The exhibition features a diverse range of photographs, archival images, and audio-visual materials, providing a comprehensive insight into the creative process and inspirations behind each designer’s work.

Eridana Çano, the General Director of the Agency for Dialogue and Co-governance, expresses her excitement about hosting a fashion exhibition within the COD building, emphasising its role as a gateway to discovering new design talents.

The presence of “Vogue Italia” in Tirana is not only a remarkable moment for the Center for Openness and Dialogue but also strengthens the ongoing collaboration with the Italian Institute of Culture.

Alessandro Ruggera, the director of the Italian Institute of Culture in Tirana, highlights Italy’s enduring attention to the Balkan region and the historical closeness between Albania and Italian culture as reasons for selecting Tirana as the first international stop for the exhibition. This decision also reflects Italy’s commitment to fostering cultural exchange and recognizing the vibrant artistic scene in Albania.

Francesca Ragazzi from “Vogue Italia” emphasizes the significance of “Fashion Panorama – The Italian New Wave” in showcasing the values, causes, humanity, and creativity of the ten chosen designers. The exhibition serves as a platform for these artists to express their unique perspectives and offers the public of Albania and the Balkans an opportunity to immerse themselves in the new trends of Italian fashion design.

The arrival of the renowned magazine, “Vogue Italia,” and the presentation of “Fashion Panorama – The Italian New Wave” in Tirana signifies a turning point for the Albanian fashion industry.
