BBC World Service in Tirana to record The Arts Hour On Tour

Recorded in English, The Arts Hour On Tour is a radio show that visits great cities around the world, to explore their hottest cultural trends and issues by talking to the artists who live and work there.

Some of Albania’s top creatives will join BBC presenter Nikki Bedi in conversation in front of a live audience, including actor Amos Zaharia, artist Armando Lulaj and film producer Sabina Kodra. There will also be live music from Kamela Islamaj and Rael Hoxha and the Peter Pan Quartet, and stand-up comedy from Florjan Binaj.

During the show, we will hear about how culture is evolving in Albania. More than 30 years since the end of communism, there is a long-standing pattern of emigration from this small and beautiful country. For The Arts Hour on Tour in Tirana, Nikki Bedi will be joined on stage by artists who have decided to stay and help shape the future of Albanian culture through their creativity.
